Lifewide Education is a community-based social enterprise formed in 2011 to develop , support and promote a lifewide approach to learning and personal development in formal education and in individuals own lives. The community is supported by a small band of volunteers who maintain the website, produce Lifewide Magazine and the LIfewide Education e-book. The community supports its own Lifewide Development Award. The community provides encouragement and practical help to individuals and organisations who want to adopt, adapt and implement the idea of lifewide learning and education.

Lifewide Learning Education & Personal Development e-book is the journal of the Lifewide Education Community. Its purpose is to draw together, consolidation and dissemination of knowledge about lifewide learning, personal development and education. The book is organised into four sections:-
A. Conceptual and synthesis articles
B. Biographical and autobiographical accounts
C. Research studies
D. Practice-oriented accounts
The aim is to strike a balance between academic scholarly and research-based contributions, and contributions authored by people who do not count themselves as academic but who can provide real-life stories that reveal their personal perspectives on and experiences of lifewide learning and development.

It is also intended to encourage greater self-awareness and enhanced capability for managing and evaluating development and the creation of personal learning ecologies. Information about the award is provided through the LDA website.
